Life today is
chock full between work,
chauffeuring the kids, helping with homework, volunteering, church, the
gym, and everything else we’re all trying to fit in.
When you
are constantly on the go, you need recipes that are fast and simple.
Here are some sweet easy snack recipes that are
great for the whole
family:
Chocolate Pops
-2 cups chocolate milk
-1 package of chocolate or vanilla pudding mix
-6 paper cups
-6 popsicle sticks
Beat the chocolate milk and pudding mix with
an electric hand mixer. Beat on high for 2 minutes. Pour evenly into
the paper cups, cover tightly with plastic wrap, and insert a popsicle
stick into each one. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours. Peel off the
paper cups, and you have chocolate pops for the whole family!
No-Bake Chocolate Cookies
-2 cups sugar
-1/2 teaspoon vanilla
-1/2 cup butter or margarine
-1/4 teaspoon salt
-1/2 cup evaporated milk
-1/4 cup cocoa powder
-2 1/2 cups uncooked oatmeal
Combine all ingredients except oatmeal and
vanilla. Bring to a boil for three minutes, stirring constantly. Remove
from heat and add the vanilla and oatmeal. Drop by spoonfuls onto
aluminum foil and allow to harden for a couple of hours.
Those are easy, but there are easy snack
recipes that are even easier!
Make peanut butter or cheese sandwiches and
cut into fun shapes with metal cookie cutters – lots of fun
for the kids!
Yogurt bananas
– Dip cut up
bananas into fruit flavored yogurt and freeze on waxed paper. Bite
sized frozen treats that are much healthier than ice cream bites!
Fruit Shakers –
Combine 1/2 cup of
low fat fruit yogurt in a cup with a tight lid and combine with 1/2 cup
of very cold fruit juice. Shake it up and pour for a yummy treat.
Finally, you just can’t go wrong
with trail mix. Combine your favorite dry cereal with some raisins and
peanuts, and add in a little something chocolatey (M&Ms or
chocolate chips). Keep it in an airtight container, or a bunch of snack
baggies for quick grabbing on the way out the door. The ultimate of
easy snack recipes!
