The snack food
industry has exploded in the
past couple of years with
100 calorie snacks
proportioned for the
consumer who is worried about eating too much.
While sticking to one of
these packets as a snack can be a good way to control portion sizes,
too often people eat more than one packet. On the other hand, most of
the snack foods in these packets are not filling…they are
high in processed carbs, and/or they are such small portions that it
would be a miracle if they kept anyone’s hunger at bay.
At
most, these packets are great to satisfy the munchies…if you
stick to one packet. The 100 calorie packs of nuts are also a great way
to get protein and have a very healthy snack.
There are plenty of snacks you can prepare
on your own that are 100 calorie snacks. Keep in mind, however, that
you also need to make sure the snack isn’t high in fat.
For a good afternoon snack that will tide

the spot!
